Long weekend bakes

This was an unplanned bake, started preparation in the evening and initially meant for it to be burger buns but during shaping, I thought why not I try bagels for once? So the buns turned into bagels!  Have to wait till about midnight before I can boil it and then bake them in the oven...by the time I am done, it was pass 1 a.m.! Very tasty, chewy and soft, great with the braised pork that I cooked and the boys ate it for lunch. I had mine for breakfast with some garlic cheesespread...yum!

Sotf chewy Sweet Potatoes Bagels

Braised Pork with Eggs...dip the bagels into the sauce....yumm!

Also baked some muffins with the leftover sweet potatoes from the bagels...

Sweet Potatoes Muffins

Last but not least, baked this wonderful Orange Butter Cake using the recipe from Ju of Little Teochew. Hop over to her blog for the recipe if you wish to bake this beautiful cake. I reduce the sugar to 180g. Not as good as hers looked but delicious just the same....

  14. I've never made bagels at home and should give it a try. I'm usually disappointed with what I buy in bagel shops. Chewy and soft are what I'm looking for. Yours look perfect.
