I have been very fascinated with this bread ever since I spotted it at a bread shop one day. Finally got hold of some bamboo charcoal powder. Using the Oats Bread recipe, I added 20 gm of the powder to the flour before mixing into the starter dough. No difference in taste really, just a drastic change in colour. The information given in the internet is that the charcoal is actually good for health. Put a piece in the refrigerator to get rid of odor or slice some and put into rice before cooking to rid it of chlorine or other chemical in the water! Your rice will taste better it seems. You can add a piece into your tub of water and soak in it. The minerals in the charcoal will keep your skin soft and improve your joints pain and help with blood circulation. Well, with so much benefits, let's bake more of it...lol!
